Oh, the brilliance of it all

The ASUN Elections are an absolute debacle.

The elections board still believes they have the ability to censure people.

The judicial board doesn't know which end is up, much less that they are expected to hear cases of misconduct and divvy out punishment.

And, as always, the attorney general is dragging her feet on getting things done.

Can't wait to see how it all pans out, but my guess is that it's not going to be pretty.

All of this is ridiculous! What is the point of the elections board having rules if they are not going to be enforced?

Rules? Haven't you learned anything, anon? Rules don't matter, just so long as you "do the right thing." Everytime the Senate has attempted to enforce the rules by holding officials who break them accountable, it has variously been decried as a "witch hunt," or a "vendetta," or "Sean McDonald (aka Scrooge McDuck) out for blood," or "a waste of time."

You don't need rules; you just need to know how to pay them lip service. For all of you out there who have this misunderstanding that rules are to be enforced, give it up. Rules aren't for being followed; they're for being written and then ignored.

Like the latest rumor circulating, that the Reilly camp has failed to turn in campaign materials and receipts within the timeframe required by these "rules." So what? All we need to know is if he did the right thing by refusing to obey the rules.
